Deepika, Janhvi, Rashmika’s Raaka character details out
As per a report in India Today, sources close to the production reveal that Deepika plays a pregnant woman whose fight for survival forms one of the film’s emotional threads. Her portions are reportedly set in the Puranic Vedic era, adding another layer to the film’s expansive narrative. Janhvi Kapoor, meanwhile, is said to essay the role of a tribal queen, a fierce leader whose character is expected to be integral to the world of Raaka.
Revealing details about Rashmika’s character, the source stated to the portal, “Rashmika Mandanna reportedly plays another key character whose journey intersects closely with Deepika’s. According to sources, she essays a guide and protector who helps Deepika’s character navigate the dangerous world of Raaka and becomes instrumental in her fight for survival.”
More about Raaka
This update comes after Allu Arjun spoke about the film during the inauguration of his cinema in Vizag. He said, “Raaka? I’ve come here from the Raaka shoot. The shooting is going on in Mumbai, and I asked for a break to come here. I said I need to go to Vizag, see my fans and return.”
Raaka is a sci-fi film directed by Atlee and produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures. The film stars Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles and is expected to release in December 2027. Sai Abhyankkar is composing the music. Now, if reports are to be believed, the film is set to get even grander, with the makers planning a two-part franchise.
With a massive budget of over Rs 1,000 crore, the film is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic experiences. “Raaka is being planned as a two-part franchise film, divided between different timelines. One is set in a tribal Puranic Vedic period, while the other unfolds in a modern contemporary world,” the source told India Today.
