Vijay finally took the oath as the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on Sunday amid much fanfare and buzz in a ceremony which was attended by his family, and industry friends, including actor Trisha. The Karupu actress, who is rumoured to be dating Vijay, was seen glowing in a blue saree and was all smiles at the event. A clip from the ceremony is now going viral on social media, where Trisha is seen getting emotional as Vijay delivered his first address as the CM.
Trisha gets emotional as Vijay takes the oath
The video that is being widely circulated on X shows Trisha getting teary-eyed as Vijay delivers his address as the CM of Tamil Nadu. Trisha is seen maintaining a smile even as her eyes grew watery.
Trisha headed to Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai for Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony early on Sunday. When a media personnel remarked that it was a ‘big day for Tamil Nadu’, Trisha replied, “Yes. Thank you, thank you. Looking forward,” flashing a wide smile. Trisha was accompanied by her mother, Uma Krishnan, also accompanied her. Later, Trisha was also seen hugging Vijay`s mother at the venue.

Vijay, in his first address as Chief Minister, thanked the people of Tamil Nadu and called for a “new era” of governance.
“Come, let all of us together give Tamil Nadu a fresh new government. This is a new beginning, the start of a new era of secular, social justice. I am not some divine messenger or prophet. I am just an ordinary human being living a normal life. I will never deceive you with false promises. I will only promise what is possible,” he said.
Vijay`s father gets teary-eyed
Just like Trisha, several others including fans, were also seen getting emotional. Among those visibly emotional was Vijay’s father, veteran filmmaker and actor SA Chandrasekhar. While speaking to the media after the ceremony, the proud father expressed pride while opening up about his family’s journey and struggles over the years.
“What more can I ask for? My son has fulfilled my dream,” the filmmaker said while interacting with reporters after the swearing-in ceremony.
