Thousands of Indian-Americans gathered in New York to celebrate India’s 80th Independence Day at the annual India Day Parade. This year, Pooja Hegde attended the outing as a chief guest, and the actress shared several glimpses on her social media. However, in a viral video, she is seen grooving to her popular track Butta Bomma as she interacted with a fan.

In the video, Pooja Hegde can be seen enjoying the lively atmosphere as she dances to Butta Bomma while the parade makes its way through the streets of New York. She is also seen waving to fans along the route. At one point, a fan performs the song’s signature hook step. To cheer him, Pooja joins in and lights up the environment with her infectious smile and energy.

Calling her appearance at the parade “truly an honour and a matter of immense pride”, Pooja said there was “something incredibly surreal about seeing the streets of New York come alive with so many Indians.”
For those unversed, the song was composed by S Thaman and sung by Armaan Malik and Sri Krishna. It featured Pooja alongside Allu Arjun in the 2020 Telugu film Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The song became a major chartbuster, and its hook step went viral. The actress recently marked six years of the film’s release by sharing the song’s clip. Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo emerged as the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2020.
Allu Arjun has also been a part of the India Day Parade in the past, and he attended it with his wife, Sneha Reddy. Last year, Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna were seen gracing the parade, and their PDA stole attention.

On the work front, Pooja was most recently seen in Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Vijay’s Jana Nayagan. The film earned more than Rs 300 crore worldwide and is set to premiere on ZEE5. Before this, she was a part of David Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
Pooja’s upcoming projects include Kanchana 4, written and directed by Raghava Lawrence, who also stars in the film. She will also play a lead role in Sri Sri, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan. It is directed by Ravi Nelakuditi.
