Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups hit theatres on Wednesday night amid much fanfare and excitement. On its day one, the film minted over Rs 101 crore at the India box office, surpassing the opening-day record of Ranveer Singh, Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Given its impressive start, trade analysts had expectations that the film would shatter several box-office records. However, Toxic registered a massive decline in collections on its second day and continued to witness a drop in its daily earnings since then.

According to trade tracking portal Sacnilk, Toxic had minted a net Rs 23 crore in India on day 5. With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 214.10 crore, and total India gross collection stands at Rs 255.95 crore. On Sunday, the film recorded its lowest collection so far and has continued to see a dip since its massive opening.
Language-wise collection
As per the language-wise breakdown, Toxic had earned the maximum collection from Hindi shows with 11,734 screenings. The Hindi version raked in Rs 14.50 crore and recorded 14.50% occupancy. The Kannada version, meanwhile, had 1,297 shows and collected Rs 6.40 crore, becoming the second-biggest contributor to the film’s day 5 India net collection.
Tamil was screened across 1,416 shows and raked in Rs 0.60 crore. Whereas the Telugu and Malayalam versions had 1,541 and 253 shows, they earned Rs 1.40 crore and 0.10 crore, respectively.

Despite the slowdown in its earnings, Toxic has surpassed the lifetime India net collections of Suriya’s Karuppu, which had grossed Rs 198.18 crore, and Vijay-starrer Jana Nayagan, which earned Rs 198.22 crore, as per Sacnilk.
