Fauzi teaser: Prabhas' film fackes backlash for THIS reason

On the occasion of Prabhas’ birthday on October 23, the makers of his upcoming actioner Fauzi released a first glimpse of the film. However, the teaser has not been facing flak from a section of users online. Some viewers have pointed out the portrayal of historical figures, particularly Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose seems to be misleading.
Fauzi teaser
Prabhas and the makers shared the video on Instagram, calling it as the declassified File No. 25. The teaser opens with black-and-white visuals of wartime vehicles that are seen moving through a snow-covered street. The text establishes the setting as Berlin on May 29, 1942.

The video shows the meeting between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Adolf Hitler during World War II, where the Indian freedom fighter seeks international support for India’s independence from British rule. However, how the historical encounter connects to Prabhas’ character or the film’s storyline is not clear.
Notably, the teaser glimpse comes after the makers shared a birthday poster featuring Prabhas in a vintage military uniform. It was accompanied by the tagline A Battalion Who Fights Alone and the phrase Agyataparva, meaning a hidden chapter.
Prabhas’ Fauzi faces flak
Many users pointed out that during the meeting, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose is shown praising Prabhas’ character. They believe that using a respected freedom fighter to elevate the film’s protagonist did not seem right. Man questioned of Many questioned if the scene gives due importance to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s historical significance or merely uses him.
A user even demanded that a criminal case be filed against the makers for using Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to glorify Prabhas’ character. Many even called for an immediate public apology and the removal of the video.

What a mockery you have made of Netaji @hanurpudi . He is not some side character to hype ur hero. Here he first says #fauzi is best spy we have and then reveal his location 🥲🥲. Also tells that his code is based on Gita, this is basically providing decryption key 🤦🏻🤦🏻.

Meanwhile, some fans have defended the makers, pointing out that the film is a fictionalised story based on real characters. The makers are yet to respond to the criticism or issue a statement regarding the same.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi stars Prabhas alongside Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty, Jaya Prada and Anupam Kher. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and presented by T-Series Films, the period drama includes music by Vishal Chandrasekhar. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.
