Peddi: Ram Charan starrer smashes Rs100 crore worldwide on opening day

Ram Charan has delivered one of the biggest openings of his career with Peddi, as the sports drama stormed past the Rs 100-crore mark worldwide on its first day in theatres. The impressive debut marks the actor’s strongest box-office start since the global success of RRR and reinforces his star power across markets.
Peddi enters the 100cr club
Released on June 4, Peddi arrived amid massive anticipation from fans and trade analysts alike. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film generated significant buzz through its promotional campaign, teaser releases and advance bookings. The excitement translated into strong footfalls on opening day, with audiences turning up in large numbers across India and overseas markets.
According to early box-office estimates, the film crossed the Rs 100-crore milestone worldwide within its first day of release. Reports suggest that Peddi earned over Rs 50 crore net in India, while its global gross collection surpassed Rs 110 crore, making it one of the most successful openings of the year.
The Telugu version emerged as the biggest contributor to the film’s earnings, receiving an enthusiastic response from audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Strong occupancy levels, combined with impressive advance bookings, helped the film register record-breaking numbers in several territories.
Trade observers have also noted that Peddi outperformed the opening-day collections of several major releases and delivered Ram Charan’s biggest solo opening to date. The achievement comes at a crucial time for the actor, whose previous release, Game Changer, failed to maintain momentum after its initial weekend. This time, however, positive audience reactions have fueled optimism about the film’s long-term prospects.
