More about Toxic
Several clips from Toxic screenings are going viral amid the release. In one of the videos, a young child was seen watching the film despite it being ‘A’ rated. Apart from this, director Geetu Mohandas visited a theatre where a fan broke down after meeting her. Not only this, as the film was celebrated, heaps of garbage were found in a theatre, which was being cleaned.
Talking about the box office, Yash’s Toxic earned Rs 101 crore net and Rs 120 crore gross across India on its opening day. The collection was led by the Hindi version of the film, which contributed Rs 55 crore, followed by the Kannada version, which was unable to cross Rs 25 crore despite a high occupancy. Meanwhile, the Telugu version earned Rs 11 crore on the day.
Despite Toxic reviews largely being unfavourable, the gangster drama recorded the second-best opening for an Indian film in the domestic market in 2026, behind Dhurandhar 2’s historic Rs 103 crore start.
Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles.
