The teaser of Vishwanath and Sons was unveiled online on Monday. The film starring Suriya and Mamitha Baiju explores an unlikely love story. The film directed by Venky Atluri raised eyebrows over the casting of Suriya and Mamitha who have an age gap of over 20 years. The teaser puts those questions to rest as the actors have been cast appropriately to the plot of the film. The ensemble cast also includes Raveena Tandon, Radhika Sarathkumar, Bhavani Sre and Bjorn Surrao in pivotal roles.
About Vishwanath and Sons teaser
Suriya essays the role of Sanjay Vishwanath, an international pistol shooter who continues pursuing his ambitions well into his 40s. Fans were quick to notice that he is once again playing a character named Sanjay, a name forever linked to his iconic portrayal of the determined amnesiac in Ghajini. It’s the kind of trivia that spreads instantly within fan circles, and it has been making the rounds ever since the first-look poster was unveiled earlier this month.
The teaser presents Suriya in a nuanced avatar, blending paternal tenderness with emotional intensity. His trademark style remains intact, while the striking dialogues penned by director Venky Atluri evoke a version of Suriya audiences have long missed.
Bringing a refreshing spark to what is being described as an unconventional love story is Mamitha Baiju, whose lively and endearing screen presence stands out even in the brief glimpse. The film openly acknowledges the age difference between the leads.
The story takes a turn when Maddy develops feelings for Sanjay, much to his discomfort. “With just a snap of your fingers, boys your age will come running,” he tells her. She responds with quiet defiance: “I can snap many more times — why don’t you fall for me? That’s all I want.” The closing moments show Sanjay alongside a toddler, hinting at an emotional journey. The teaser positions the film as a tender drama that addresses society’s unease around significant age gaps in relationships.
