Jason Sanjay recalls when father Vijay's fan kidnapped him from school – Watch

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay’s personal relationships with his kids and estranged wife have been under scrutiny ever since his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed for divorce. The matter further intensified when fans noticed that their son, Jason Sanjay, had unfollowed him on Instagram. However, others argued that he had never followed his father. Later, his family’s absence from his oath-taking ceremony further sparked debates. Amid this, a video of Jason talking about being ‘kidnapped’ by his father’s fan has surfaced online.

Galatta earlier posted a video, which has now been deleted, in which Jason is seen interacting with a child. During the conversation, he recalled a childhood incident of kidnapping. Although the original video was deleted, fans have since downloaded and widely circulated the video on social media. In the video, Jason talks about an incident when he thought he was ‘kidnapped’ from school before his father could arrive and pick him up.

Jason revealed that he was reminded of the incident while shooting with the child’s father, Gemini Mani, on the sets of his film Sigma. Jason told the boy in Tamil, “When I was young, your father tried to kidnap me in a car. My father would always send security to pick me up from school. But, your father came and kidnapped me.”
Immediately, Gemini Mani, who was recording the video, said, “I am a big Thalapathy fan. I wanted to see Thalapathy somehow, so I went instead of security and picked up Sanjay. But he threw all his school bags and tried to escape like that.”
“Yes, I was a little boy then..that’s what happens,” Sanjay replied with a beautiful smile.
Jason Sanjay’s rumoured rift with his father
Jason, who is debuting as a director with Sigma soon, has reportedly dropped his father’s initial ‘V’ and instead chosen ‘S’ for his mother in the film’s credits. Fans also speculated that he had unfollowed Vijay on Instagram, which led to persistent speculation about his troubled relationship with his father, Vijay. His and his sister Divya Saasha’s absence at Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony as CM further fueled the speculations.
Meanwhile, Sigma is slated for release on July 31, 2026. The film stars Sundeep Kishan, Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, Sampath Raj, Kiran Konda, and Magalakshmi Sudharsanan, along with several cameo appearances.
