Actress Rakul Preet Singh recently celebrated as her 2017 Telugu romantic actioner Jaya Janaki Nayaka became YouTube’s highest-watched Indian film. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, starring Rakul and Bellamkonda Sreenivas, the film flopped when it was released at the box office 8 years ago.

In her latest Instagram Story, Rakul expressed gratitude while saying that her character of Janaki will be one of those that will stay with her forever. She wrote, “Some characters stay with you forever, and Janaki will always be one of them. Thank you for all the love you’ve shown and for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka the highest-watched Indian film on YouTube ever. This is a special feat. (sic).”
The De De Pyaar De actress also gave a special shout-out to the director of the film, Boyapati Srinu, saying, “A special thank you to boyapatisrinu_official sir and the entire team for this unforgettable journey.”
According to Hindustan Times, the film has also become the first in the world to generate 1 billion views on YouTube. While PSY’s music video for Gangnam Style was the first video to cross that mark on the platform, Jaya Janaki Nayaka has achieved the same feat recently when it comes to movies. The director expressed happiness about it while confirming the news.

Srinu shared the news on social media and wrote, “1 Billion Views. 1000 Million Hearts. 100 Crore Emotions. 1 Film. The first movie in the world to achieve this incredible milestone. Thank you for making Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Khoonkhar) a timeless celebration. This milestone belongs to every one of you. Thank you for your endless love and support.” Those who watched the film commented on the post with one-liners from it.

The music for the film has been scored by renowned composer Devi Sri Prasad. The technical cast further includes Rishi Punjabi as the cinematographer with Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao as the head of the editing department.Jaya Janaki Nayaka reached the cinema halls on August 11, 2017.
