Raghava Lawrence, on Wednesday, said that he has postponed his much-anticipated ‘important life decision’ announcement after the passing of veteran filmmaker and actor Bharathiraja. The actor had earlier revealed that he would address rumours of his political entry on June 11. However, now he has shared an update that the announcement has been postponed.
Raghava Lawrence postpones announcement
The actor revealed that the announcement will now take place on June 12 at 10:00 AM. He added that the decision to postpone the big announcement was made out of respect for the late filmmaker, since his death feels like a personal loss.
On Wednesday, Raghava Lawrence took to Instagram to share the update. In his update, the actor-director wrote, “ Hi everyone, I had earlier informed you that I would be making an important life decision announcement on Thursday, the 11th, at 9:30 AM. The industry is currently mourning the passing of Bharathiraja sir. This loss feels deeply personal, like losing a member of the family.”

He further added that he felt it was appropriate to delay his announcement. “Out of respect for Bharathiraja sir and his immense contribution to cinema, I have decided to postpone my announcement. I will now be making the announcement on Friday, the 12th, at 10:00 AM,” the note added.
Earlier today, Raghava Lawrence also mourned Bharathiraja’s death after learning about the news, and wrote on X, “My heart is heavy upon hearing the demise of our legendary director, Bharathiraja Sir. My deepest condolences to his family. His legacy will live on in every storyteller who believes that simple lives can create extraordinary cinema. His contributions to Tamil cinema will continue to inspire generations. May his soul rest in peace.”
Bharathiraja, one of the legendary filmmakers of Tamil cinema, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 84. The filmmaker breathed his last at his residence in Chennai after battling age-related health complications.
Raghava Lawrence to announce life decision
For the unversed, Lawrence’s name has been linked to the vacant Trichy East Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu for the past several days. The seat became available after Chief Minister Vijay chose to retain the Perambur constituency after his victory in the state elections.
On June 7, Raghava Lawrence addressed the speculations and wrote, “All my Media friends have been reaching out to me over the phone and requesting to meet me, asking for clarification. Since the speculation has grown to a point where I feel I should address it, I wanted to share this note. I’m currently busy shooting for Benz, and my schedule ends on the 10th.”
“With my mother’s blessings, An important decision regarding my life will be announced on 11th, Thursday at 9:30 am,” he said.
