The Kodagu reception was held on April 6, a day after Rashmika’s 30th birthday. For her birthday, the newlyweds, along with their family, visited the Igguthappa Temple in Karnataka. During the reception, Vijay spoke about his fondness for Kodagu and his personal connection to the place. He also expressed his desire to visit again and explore Rashmika’s childhood memories.
The Arjun Reddy actor said, “Next time I come, I’d like to go around and see her childhood and life here. This is the third time I am here. The first time was before I even knew her, with my school friends, Coorg was our first holiday destination. I found out later that I had stayed in one of her friend’s houses (who was not there at the event).”
Vijay then went on to praise the beauty of the place and its people. He also expressed his happiness about being married to Rashmika. “I’ve become so fond of this place, such a beautiful place. I always thought that women from here (Kodagu) are very beautiful, even before I met her. I think Coorgi women are very beautiful, and I’m married to one, and I’m very happy. Lovely meeting and seeing you all here,” he said.
Rashmika wore a traditional silk saree draped in the Kodava style, embracing the local culture during the occasion. Vijay opted for a black blazer, white shirt, and black trousers.
