Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film, Jailer 2, is all set to hit the screens next week. Ahead of its release, the film has been cleared for release with a UA 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Additionally, the film’s runtime has also been locked.
Jailer 2 gets CBFC clearance
According to the CBFC certification details, Jailer 2 has been cleared for release with a UA 16+ certificate. It also mentions its certified runtime as 165 minutes and 18 seconds. This makes the film approximately two hours and 45 minutes long. Interestingly, the final runtime makes the sequel only around three minutes shorter than its predecessor, the 2023 blockbuster Jailer, which had a runtime of approximately 168 minutes.
Meanwhile, the certification details have put to rest earlier reports of the Rajinikanth-starrer receiving an A certificate. The certification comes just days after Sun Pictures released the film’s trailer, which created a lot of buzz among the fans of the franchise.
The Jailer 2 trailer showed the return of Rajinikanth as Muthuvel Pandian, also known as “Tiger”. The upcoming sequel expands the world of the 2023 blockbuster film. It also brings back several familiar faces while adding many new actors to the ensemble cast.
