The makers of director Nag Ashwin’s magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD have issued a statement on Thursday warning the public to be aware of fake casting calls and individuals falsely claiming to represent them. Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house, took to its social media timelines to share a statement. Meanwhile, the makers are currently working on the much-awaited sequel to the multi-starrer film. Kalki 2898 AD Part 2 is reportedly targeting a theatrical release in December 2027, with principal photography actively underway.
Kalki 2898 AD makers warn against fake calls
In the statement, Vyjayanthi Movies said, “Important Clarification: Please beware of fake casting calls and individuals falsely claiming to represent VyjayanthiMovies. Kalki2898AD.”
The production house added, “Vyjayanthi movies would like to clarify that we are not associated with, nor have we authorised, any third-party agency, company, individual, or casting representative to conduct auditions or casting on our behalf.”

The production house also urged people not to share their personal details with any such persons or agencies. It wrote, “Please do not share personal information, audition material, or make any payments to anyone claiming to represent us.”
Vyjayanthi Movies further pointed out that it has reserved all rights to take appropriate legal action against any unauthorised use or misrepresentation of its name. “For authentic information, please rely only on Vyjayanthi Movies’ official social media handles,” they concluded.

The first part of Nag Ashwin’s magnum opus Kalki 2898 AD had emerged as a huge blockbuster and had even won two National awards at the 72nd National Film Awards by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting when it released in 2024.
At the awards, Nag Ashwin directorial won in two categories. The film went on to win the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment Award and the Award for Best Production Designer.
Recently, Nag Ashwin defended Kalki 2898 AD’s portrayal of Karna following criticism over the film’s interpretation of the Mahabharata character. The criticism came after users hailed the portrayal of Karna in Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin. The filmmaker hinted that audiences should wait for Kalki 2 before drawing conclusions.
