RJ Balaji`s directorial Karuppu, starring Suriya and Trisha, is all set to release in theatres soon. Ahead of release, the film’s team recently unveiled the actress`s first look as Preethi. Amid the online chatter, Trisha seemingly took a jibe at the film`s makers. Meanwhile, she also addressed why she did not attend the recently held audio launch as fans criticised her for not turning up.
Trisha throws shade at Karuppu makers
The team of Karuppu released a 37-second-long video showcasing Trisha’s first look from the film as Preethi. The actor plays a lawyer in a courtroom. The video shows her in a green saree dancing her heart out in a song. The clips excited fans who couldn`t stop gushing about her look in the film.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “Omg yes, I forgot Trisha is in it (sobbing emoji). Can we talk abt how freaking young she looks?? Girl is literally ageing in reverse fr. Btw, what was the last film Trisha did with Suriya before Karuppu?” Trisha re-shared the post on her official X handle and wrote, “Thank you. Even I forgot. Good to know they set a reminder now atleast.”
Further, when an X user criticised her, saying, “audio launch ku varatha unaku intha nakkal laam thevaya? (Is this sarcasm/mockery necessary for someone who didn`t even come to the audio launch?)” Trisha cheekily responded, “Guess my invite got lost in the mail :)” For the unversed, the film’s audio launch was held in Chennai on April 26.
A Suriya fan highlighted that her name and picture were included in a poster for the event, several fans came to her defence, pointing out, “Posters aren`t invitation!”

Meanwhile, Trisha shared a picture of herself wearing a backless black top paired with jeans on Friday. Flaunting her back in the photo, she captioned it, “May(me) season has officially begun,” hinting at her birthday on May 4
